Magic Mouse 2 is completely rechargeable, so you’ll eliminate the use of traditional batteries. It’s lighter, has fewer moving parts thanks to its built-in battery and continuous bottom shell, and has an optimized foot design — all helping Magic Mouse 2 track easier and move with less resistance across your desk. And the Multi-Touch surface allows you to perform simple gestures such as swiping between web pages and scrolling through documents.
Magic Mouse 2 is ready to go right out of the box and pairs automatically with your Mac. Who are these people? Is someone paying irrational, cantankerous antagonists to write one-star reviews? Anything they don't love is automatically 'the worst thing ever!' All of these Is someone paying irrational, cantankerous antagonists to write one-star reviews? Anything they don't love is automatically 'the worst thing ever!'
All of these extremely low reviews are incredible. As in 'not even remotely credible.' This mouse looks and feels like the last one - only a little lighter. Ergonomics, weight, appearance, functionality.
All great things, and all much better than your average third-party product. The mouse plugs in to charge. And this is somehow horrible? Upside-down is a bit weird and you don't use it while it is charging.
How does that make this a one-star product? Don't you ever sleep? Can't you remember to plug your mouse in overnight once a month? This is way better than having to change the batteries every two weeks. Do you gripe about your phone because you have to put it down once in a while to charge it? So it doesn't work with some of the older system software?
Well in most cases, neither should you. How does that make this product abysmal? Your wrist hurts? That is not the mouse's fault. Operator error does not make a product atrocious any more than a drunk driver makes a a particular brand of car a hazard to drive. This mouse is a great product. An improvement over the already-good last version.
Would I prefer a third party mouse over this one? I'll give my five stars right here without apology.

Absolutely HORRIBLE design why in the TECHNICAL WORLD YOU COME FROM would you design a rechargeable product that doesn't allow you to continue to use it if it runs out of a charge?!?!? Why in the TECHNICAL WORLD YOU COME FROM would you design a rechargeable product that doesn't allow you to continue to use it if it runs out of a charge?!?!? You could have designed it with the lightning connector in the front and or the back to allow it to charge and still be used as if it were a mouse with a cord. Me and few other millions of users are interrupting our work and all, once or twice a week because you and yo Man if you ever read this, you are a legend bro. Me and few other millions of users are interrupting our work and all, once or twice a week because you and your genius buddies at Apple had the miraculous idea of making this mouse useless while charging. Man, you are a hero to all of us. In a thousand years, when computers will be displayed in museums, your design will be seen as a significant step in the history of human civilization.
For now, I'll be contemplating my charging mouse. What a beautiful world.

It worked great until about 4-5 months ago when the scrolling function just stopped working. I had also seen a lot of 1 star reviews on here so that made me more hesitant.
After jumping into try it for myself, I would say that this is the best 'touch' mouse option for the Mac. It works great and doesn't stop working if the surface gets a little oily which can happen over the course of hours when you're working. It has a couple of gestures and multitouch functions that didn't come with the Logitech. I haven't had the issues that most of the 1 star reviewers are reporting fortunately.
I think most of the time, people review things when they're bad and not enough people leave reviews when things go well. If you're hesitant to try it out, don't let these reviews stop you. Plus, you can always return it if it doesn't work. I caught a sale price at Best Buy and used some rewards certificates to help get the price down.
One thing that would be nice is if Apple came up with an ergonomic option or an option for people with larger hands. More (Read full review). Written by Andrew W from Sherman Oaks. Mar 19, 2019 1 of 1 people found this useful.
Although they are kinda spendy, Apple hardware is great and I really like the buttonless, bluetooth Magic Mouse. I started using one with my Windows laptop and was surprised at the lack of info on the interwebs about getting the scrolling to work. Found some paid software for full support but, come on, it’s just a mouse driver.
Turns out its really easy: 0. Just download, extract and run. Or if you’d rather download the executable from Apple instead of me (no hard feelings), do this:. Bounce over to Apple and grab the Boot Camp Support Software. As of right now, the. Or you can check about halfway down and grab other versions from the table. Extract the ZIP file you downloaded, the mouse driver is in the BootCamp Drivers Apple folder and called AppleWirelessMouse64.exe – just extract and run it.
Also, in there are Windows drivers for just about every other Apple peripheral, yay!
